Re: The Official Six Nations Thread
I honestly think we'll win at least 1 test and so it'll have to be the first or second to take it to a decider in the third. We all know how the AB's performance can suffer when the pressure's really on, so that's got to be our aim.

Do you think having a Kiwi as head coach will be a help or a hindrance for us?

Re: The Official Six Nations Thread
Well ilford, the first and third tests are at Eden Park, where we haven't lost for about a thousand years, so I'd target the second if I was Gatland.

Thanks for confirming what a needy little try-hard you are LOLmas. That was the biggest load of self-justifying, look at me bullshit I think I have ever seen on here. On a site that has had Lord Zoltan and BRANDED as posters too.

And for confirming you are not West Ham either, funny that.

Still, I'm sure "Rob" held your hand for a bit at school because you pretended to support us.

Re: The Official Six Nations Thread
Not bad, although I'd probably have Ken Owens in for George. Launchbury has to play as well.

Was well impressed with the Oirish back row on Saturday and have always rated O'Mahony. Think he's a superb player and he'll gives us another option in the line out as well.

This could potentially be the strongest Lions squad ever and the tests will be won by the 22. The fact we could name a ridiculously strong bench gives me hope we could win at least one test. Let's just hope it's not the 3rd one.

Not a bad 15... swap AWJ's for L'bury and I reckon there is not much between Webb and Murray at SH... would not be far off it as it stands at the moment...

Thanks for clearing that up mate.

Now roll on the Lions.

Re: The Official Six Nations Thread
Have supported West Ham since I was about 11, so 30 years.
Started when a kid from East London started at my intermediate school and we became great mates.
I used to sort of support Liverpool, but that was only because they were just about always on the telly in the FA Cup Final etc.
Rob had a video of the 85/86 season which we watched and that was me hooked.
If only I'd known that that would be the pinnacle.
And yes, I lived over there for nearly 10 years, although mostly in Worcestershire.

I'm a little bemused as to why you're on this forum Jonah. Is it just to lord it over us about rugby, like the typically put upon, huge chip on your shoulder, provincial Commonwealth tool who hates the English?

Or do you actually support West Ham? If so, how did that happen? Through your Dad or uncles, or did you live over here at any stage? Interested to know.

Re: The Official Six Nations Thread
I also had a few biology lectures with Anton Oliver (looks like a gorilla in real life too), and flatted with a couple of blokes that were neighbours to Marc Ellis in Cumberland Halls of Residence - who somewhat amazingly managed to hand in more Maths with Stats assignments while away on an All Blacks tour than he did when he was in Dunedin, and smashed a poor little Chinese student right between the eyes (glasses) with a snowball from 3 metres away.

Have played drinking games with Yummy Brown at the Fat Ladies Arms, now long gone and met some of the touring Scottish players in the same pub during their tour in 1996, and shagged a lovely Scottish bird called Angela at her motel that same night.

In actual fact, my father born and raised down in Dunedin and played for Port Chalmers senior side and Otago B in his younger days, so I'm very strongly linked to the area.

Of course, you weren't to know that.

Re: The Official Six Nations Thread
Glib assumptions eh?

I presume you didn't know I lived in Dunedin for 3 years while at Uni, played for Otago University Rugby, and went to the Brook nearly every game from 95-97, including both the NPC and Super Rugby, and quite often went out on the piss and bumped into any number of both Otago and opposition players in town.

I did miss a few during the holidays when I went back to Auckland.

Of course, being a staunch Auckland supporter, I took a lot of shit down there, but winning the NPC final in 95 over Otago with a bit of controversy was a real high point.

Re: The Official Six Nations Thread
Jonah, You know little or nothing about me or come to that my relatives in Gods own country.

Unlike you for example I have seen Taine Randall captain the Highlanders in several games at the Brook [ Carisbrook for those that live on the North Island ]. So making glib assumptions can sometimes rebound back on people.

My Kiwi relatives are good people, they enjoy their riugby as indeed they do most sports. One of the things I have in common with them is that we both think the people who live on North Island are busy body anal sphincters. Sadly you epitomise that stereotype.

Re: The Official Six Nations Thread
How does that bloke keep getting selected for international fixtures?

I know he was fast-tracked in his early days, and was well out of his depth at the 2007 World Cup, but he just keeps popping up in just about every single controversial match.

It took 20 minutes to set the last scrum and the subsequent penalty scrums against Wales. He sin-binned a Welsh prop in injury time who was able to come back on in time for the last five minutes because the ref forgot to stop the clock once it had got to 80 minutes.

Awwww so now we're the ones picking on the wanker.

Fucking typical of his sort it seems, it's always the English, yet here he is gobbing off about his rugby team bang smack in the middle of an English football club's fan forum.

What an utter cunt.

Re: The Official Six Nations Thread
I didn't watch the game, but just saw some brief highlights on the news, and the bloke looked like a stunned mullet.

I mean seriously, a 100 minute game, and there weren't even any injuries were there?
